I was born in Istanbul in 1992. For as long as I can remember, I have loved playing with colors and visual storytelling. About 8–9 years ago, I began working with batik, a technique I first learned from my mother.

Batik, originally an Indonesian dyeing technique, is something I reinterpret in my own style by combining it with lines and contemporary forms. At first, my stories revolved around the natural elements and their cycles, but over time new themes found their way into my work. The fact that the materials I use—fire, water, and earth—are the same elements that shape the natural world feels deeply poetic to me.
